šŸ›øšŸ“ NC500: THE MINI 4 PRO MISSION šŸššŸŒ

This Sunday (21 Sept) Vanilla and I hit the road east → west on the NC500. One van. One pilot. One drone: Zoom, the DJI Mini 4 Pro. Light, nimble, sub-250g… and absolutely ready to dance with Scotland’s wild skies. šŸ’Ø

šŸ“” The Flying Forecast

  • Inverness → East Coast (Sun): Breezy with showers. Quick launches only, but the moody castle shots could be epic. šŸ°šŸŒ§ļø

  • Wick & John O’Groats (Mon–Tue): Drizzle then brighter skies. Perfect for coastal sweeps and gull-dodging action. šŸ¦šŸ’„

  • North Coast (Tue–Thu): The golden window! Lighter winds, mid-teens temps, huge skies. This is when Zoom will really stretch its wings. šŸŒŠšŸ›ø

  • Ullapool & Coigach (Wed–Sat): Part sun, part showers. Sunset flights here could be next-level cinematic. šŸŒ…šŸ”„

  • Applecross & Bealach na BĆ  (Fri–Sun): Cloud flirting with rain. If it clears, Zoom + mountain pass = footage DJI would use in adverts. ā›°ļø

  • Final Stretch (29 Sept–2 Oct): Cloudier, wetter, windier. Think moody lochs, storm-chasing and dramatic atmosphere. šŸŒ§ļøāš”

⚔ Zoom’s Gameplan

  • Sub-250g freedom = more flying, less faff.

  • Charged by Vanilla’s solar veins + Jackery muscles šŸ”‹āš”.

  • ND filters ready for those rare blasts of sunshine šŸ˜Ž.

  • ActiveTrack & Waypoints = Highland road magic šŸ›£ļø.

Tourists see rain and complain. Pilots see rain and grab their drone. Mist rolling off the lochs, sunlight punching through storm clouds, gulls shrieking ā€œGET OOT MA SKY!ā€ — it’s all part of the atmosphere.

This NC500 won’t just be driven… it’ll be flown. Stay tuned here for Zoom’s flight diary: cinematic skies, rugged coasts, and all the drone magic Scotland can throw at us
