SCOTT Aspect eRIDE 910 – Meet "TORQUE"
The bike that promises to change everything.
There comes a point where every cyclist asks the same question.
"Do I really want to suffer up another hill?"
For years, mountain biking was built around pain. You climbed slowly, gasping for breath, questioning every life decision that had led you to a 20% incline covered in loose gravel.
Then along came electric mountain bikes.
Not to make cycling easy.
To make it fun again.
After months of research, endless YouTube videos, specification sheets, comparisons and more waiting than I'd care to remember, I've finally settled on what I believe is one of the best-value electric mountain bikes on the market...
The 2026 Scott Aspect eRIDE 910.
Around here, though, it has a proper name.
Torque.
First Impressions
Scott have produced something rather special.
The Midnight Grey frame looks purposeful without shouting for attention. It has clean lines, internal cable routing, a beautifully integrated Bosch battery and just enough aggression to remind you this isn't a bike designed for gentle rides to the village shop.
This is built for adventure.
Forest tracks.
Mountain passes.
Long-distance exploring.
Cannock Chase.
And hopefully a fair few Alpine climbs somewhere in Switzerland.
It's exactly the sort of bike that looks just as good leaning against a VW campervan as it does covered in mud.
The Heart of Torque
Every great bike starts with the motor.
Scott have chosen Bosch's legendary Performance Line CX.
If Bosch built Formula One engines, this would be one of them.
With 85Nm of torque, every pedal stroke feels like someone is giving you a friendly shove from behind.
Steep climbs?
Bring them on.
Headwind?
Hardly noticeable.
That hill you've always avoided?
Today's the day.
Unlike cheaper systems that simply feel like an electric scooter bolted onto a bicycle, the Bosch system feels incredibly natural.
You still have to pedal.
You're still riding.
You're simply riding with superpowers.
The Battery
Hidden neatly inside the frame sits a 600Wh Bosch PowerTube battery.
It's beautifully integrated.
No ugly boxes.
No strange brackets.
No compromises.
Realistically, depending on terrain, weather and how enthusiastic you become with Turbo mode, you're looking at somewhere between 30 and 70 miles from a charge.
More than enough for a day exploring Cannock Chase.
More than enough for campervan weekends.
More than enough for getting completely lost before finding an excellent country pub.
Built for Real Riders
One thing I really like about the Aspect eRIDE 910 is that Scott haven't tried to build an extreme downhill monster.
Instead they've built something that ordinary riders can enjoy every single weekend.
A sturdy aluminium frame.
29-inch wheels.
120mm suspension.
Four-piston Shimano hydraulic brakes.
SRAM Eagle 12-speed gears.
Everything about the specification says reliability.
Nothing feels gimmicky.
Nothing feels over-complicated.
It's the sort of bike that simply gets on with the job.
The Bosch Experience
One of the biggest reasons I chose this bike is Bosch.
Their reputation speaks for itself.
The Bosch Flow app allows you to customise riding modes, track rides, monitor battery health and keep everything updated.
The display is clear.
The controls are intuitive.
Even after a long day in the saddle, everything just works.
Sometimes that's worth more than an extra 100 watts on a specification sheet.
Hardtail or Full Suspension?
People often ask the question.
"Should I buy full suspension?"
For me...
No.
A hardtail makes perfect sense.
It's lighter.
Simpler.
Requires less maintenance.
Costs less.
And on the sort of trails I enjoy, it's absolutely ideal.
Cannock Chase.
Forest roads.
Old railway lines.
Country lanes.
National Parks.
European adventures.
Exactly what Torque was built for.
Future Plans
Of course...
No NIX project stays standard for very long.
Torque already has plans.
🟧 Orange pedals.
🟧 Orange lock-on grips.
🟧 Orange valve caps.
Bright Exposure lights.
Mudguards.
Tubeless tyres.
A quality lock.
Frame protection.
Eventually every upgrade will make the bike even more personal.
By the end, there'll be no mistaking whose bike it is.
Campervan Life
One of the reasons I wanted an e-bike was simple.
Freedom.
Vanilla takes me somewhere beautiful.
Torque lets me explore beyond where the campervan can go.
Park beside a lake.
Ride into the forest.
Follow an old railway.
Climb to a viewpoint.
Film everything through my Ray-Ban Meta glasses.
Stop for coffee.
Carry on.
That's exactly how I want to travel.
Less rushing.
More exploring.
The Waiting Game
The funny thing is...
Ordering the bike was easy.
Waiting for it wasn't.
Like many riders, I was given an estimated delivery date that quietly drifted further and further into the future.
Every phone call brought fresh optimism.
Every week brought another delay.
It became a running joke.
Friends started asking whether Torque actually existed or whether I'd accidentally ordered a unicorn.
If you've ever waited for a new bike, you'll know the feeling.
The anticipation almost becomes part of the ownership experience.
Almost.
I'd still rather have had the bike!
Why This Bike Makes Sense
The Scott Aspect eRIDE 910 isn't trying to be the fastest.
It isn't trying to be the lightest.
It isn't trying to win downhill races.
Instead, it quietly excels at something far more important.
It makes you want to ride.
That's the mark of a great bike.
You don't spend your evenings staring at specification sheets.
You spend them planning your next adventure.
My Verdict
If you're looking for an electric mountain bike that balances performance, reliability, comfort and value, the Scott Aspect eRIDE 910 deserves to be near the top of your shortlist.
Bosch power.
Scott engineering.
Solid components.
Trail-ready geometry.
Excellent value.
Most importantly...
It encourages you to get outside.
To see somewhere new.
To climb that hill.
To take the long route home.
For me, that's what cycling has always been about.
Not speed.
Not numbers.
Not Strava trophies.
Just adventure.
And I have a feeling that Torque and Vanilla are about to become a very good team indeed.
