🧊 INTRODUCTION

Every now and then you discover a product that makes you stop and think...

"Why hasn't someone thought of this before?"

For me, that product is Zero Ice Reusable Ice Cubes.

At first glance they look simple.

Just a bag full of little blue reusable cubes.

But once I started thinking about how I actually use my three Ninja Thirsti bottles, I realised these could completely change the way I keep my drinks cold.

No melted ice.

No watered-down drinks.

No hunting around campsites for bags of ice.

Just freeze them, use them, wash them and freeze them again.

Now that's a Super Nix idea.

🧊 MY NINJA THIRSTI COLLECTION

If you've followed my adventures, you'll know I'm slightly obsessed with Ninja Thirsti bottles.

I own all three 530 ml versions.

🖤 Black

🧡 Coral

🩵 Tropical Blue

They've travelled with me almost everywhere.

Into Vanilla.

Around Europe.

To CamperJam.

On long HGV shifts.

On eMTB rides with Torque.

On hot summer walks.

They're probably the best insulated bottles I've ever owned.

But every insulated bottle has one tiny problem...

Eventually...

...the ice melts.

💧 THE BIG PROBLEM WITH NORMAL ICE

We've all done it.

Fill your bottle.

Drop in a handful of ice cubes.

Head off to work.

Three hours later...

Half the drink is melted ice.

The flavour changes.

The fizz disappears.

The drink becomes weaker.

With water...

It's not too bad.

With Ninja Thirsti flavoured drinks...

I really notice it.

Especially with sparkling drinks.

They're fantastic when cold...

...less fantastic once they're diluted.

That's exactly where Zero Ice becomes interesting.

🧊 WHAT IS ZERO ICE?

Zero Ice cubes are reusable cooling cubes.

Instead of melting into your drink...

They simply stay frozen for as long as possible before gradually warming up.

That means...

✔ No extra water.

✔ No diluted flavour.

✔ No watery lemonade.

✔ No weak cola.

✔ No watered-down electrolyte drinks.

Simply cold drinks...

Exactly how you poured them.

🚐 MADE FOR VANILLA

Life in a campervan teaches you one thing very quickly.

Space matters.

Planning matters.

Fresh ice isn't always available.

When touring Europe I don't want to waste time searching supermarkets every day just to buy another bag of ice.

Instead...

Freeze these before leaving home.

Keep them in Vanilla's freezer compartment or campsite freezer whenever you get the chance.

Then simply rotate them.

One batch freezing.

One batch inside your bottles.

Simple.

🚛 PERFECT FOR HGV LIFE

A 12-hour driving shift can be brutal in summer.

You fill your bottle at 6am.

Park up at lunchtime.

Then return after unloading.

Normally...

Your drink is still cool thanks to the Ninja insulation...

But if you used normal ice...

Half of it has become water.

With reusable cubes...

Nothing changes.

Your drink tastes exactly the same.

Hour after hour.

That alone makes these worth considering.

🚴 TORQUE APPROVED

After a ride around Cannock Chase there's only one thing I want.

An ice-cold drink.

Not a cool drink.

Not a lukewarm drink.

Ice cold.

I can already imagine finishing a muddy ride...

Opening my black Ninja bottle...

Hearing that satisfying hiss from a fizzy drink...

Taking the first sip...

Still perfectly chilled.

Exactly how I left home.

🌍 EUROPEAN TOURING

One thing I learned travelling across Europe...

Ice isn't always easy to find.

Some campsites sell it.

Some don't.

Some supermarkets have loads.

Others have none.

Sometimes you're paying ridiculous prices for something that disappears overnight.

Reusable cubes completely remove that problem.

Freeze.

Use.

Repeat.

That's travelling made easier.

💰 SAVING MONEY

Let's say you buy bags of ice regularly.

Weekend camping.

Beach days.

BBQs.

Festivals.

Road trips.

It soon adds up.

These cubes are designed to be reused again and again.

Buy them once.

Look after them.

Keep using them.

That makes far more sense over the long term.

🧪 MY PLAN

I don't just want to use these.

I want to test them properly.

The Super Nix way.

I'll compare...

🥇 Normal ice

🥈 Zero Ice

🥉 No ice

Using identical Ninja Thirsti bottles.

I'll check temperatures every hour.

Taste the drinks.

Measure how much the flavour changes.

See how much fizz remains.

Find out which method really wins.

No marketing.

Just proper testing.

🥤 ARE THEY SAFE INSIDE THE NINJA?

This was my biggest question.

The answer is...

Yes.

Unlike stainless steel cubes...

These smooth plastic reusable cubes are much kinder to the inside of the bottle.

No worries about scratching the stainless steel interior during normal use.

I'd simply wash them after every use.

Refreeze them.

Ready for next time.

❄ HOW MANY WOULD I USE?

For my 530 ml bottles I'd probably use:

🥤 Water8–10 cubes

🥤 Fizzy drinks6–8 cubes

🥤 Juice8 cubes

That still leaves plenty of room for your drink while giving lots of chilled surface area.

👍 THINGS I LOVE

⭐ Drinks don't get watered down.

⭐ Perfect for fizzy drinks.

⭐ Reusable hundreds of times.

⭐ No buying bags of ice.

⭐ Brilliant for campervans.

⭐ Great for festivals.

⭐ Ideal for HGV drivers.

⭐ Fantastic for eMTB rides.

⭐ Easy to wash.

⭐ Ready whenever you need them.

🤔 ANY DOWNSIDES?

Only a couple.

They won't cool a warm drink as quickly as fresh ice.

They're at their best when:

✔ the drink is already chilled,

✔ the cubes are fully frozen,

✔ and the bottle has been kept cool.

That's exactly how I already use my Ninja bottles anyway, so it fits my routine perfectly.

🏁 FINAL VERDICT

Some products are flashy.

Some are expensive.

Some promise the world.

Zero Ice doesn't need to.

It solves one simple problem exceptionally well.

For someone like me—living between long HGV shifts, weekends in Vanilla, adventures on Torque, and always carrying a Ninja Thirsti bottle—these reusable cubes make a lot of sense.

Will they replace traditional ice in every situation? Probably not. If you want to chill a warm drink as quickly as possible, fresh ice still has the edge.

But if your drink starts off cold, these come into their own. They help keep it cold without watering it down, they're reusable, tidy, and always ready for the next trip.

That's the sort of practical improvement I enjoy most—not because it's revolutionary, but because it quietly makes every journey a little bit better.

🧊 Super Nix Rating: 9.8/10

NIX Seal of Approval

"Freeze Once. Sip Cold. Repeat."

Whether you're cruising across Europe in Vanilla, unloading at Tesco after a long shift, or catching your breath after a blast around Cannock Chase on Torque, these little reusable cubes could become one of the smartest accessories you add to your kit. Sometimes the simplest upgrades are the ones you end up using every single day.
